Virgie Kansas Holmes Harris

Virgie Kansas Holmes Harris, 90, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Virgie was born February 14, 1929 in Saltville, Va. to the late Curry Thomas Holmes and the late Hattie Mae Bailey Holmes. Virgie had owned and operated Harris Dress Shop in Bristol for a number of years. She was a member of Bristol Bird Club, the Humane Society, and the Bristol Writers Guild. Virgie always showed love and kindness to all she meet, most especially animals.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings; Robert Lee Holmes, Leona Holmes, Macey Holmes, Bertha Holmes, Richard Elgin Holmes, Donald Holmes, and Jack Holmes.
Virgie is survived by her children James Randy Harris and wife, Margaret of Bristol, Tenn. and Joanne Johnson of Bristol, Tenn.; brothers, George Holmes, Thomas Edward Holmes, Roy Denny Holmes, and Justin Wayne Holmes; sister Beulah Kate Holmes; grandchildren, Jason Harris and Lauren Harris.
A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service from 2:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Family and friends will go in procession from the funeral home to the cemetery.
