Virgil Ray Carr

d. September 12, 2013

Virgil Ray Carr, age 63, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Elizabethton, TN, and lived in the area all of his life except for a short stent in California. While his health permitted, Virgil worked in the building industry. However, he is best known for his assistance around the Musick Lakeside Campground where he greeted and interacted with all of the campers. He never met a stranger and made all of the guests feel at home. Virgil was a sports fanatic, especially for the Tennessee Volunteers. He used his love of sports to engage and interact with complete strangers.

Virgil was predeceased by his parents, Arline and Ruby Parlier Carr, and by two brothers, Arline, Jr. and Terry Carr. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Carol Snyder Carr; three brothers: Danny (Pamela) Carr of Elizabethton, TN; Bobby Carr of Johnson City, TN; and Mark (LeeAnn) Carr of Hampton, TN; one sister, Lola (Arthur) Martinez of Kingsport, TN; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special friend, Brad Fleming of Oroville, CA.
