Virginia Cecile Offield Eddy, age 82, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Francis Marion Manor Nursing Facility in Marion, VA, after a long illness. She was a retired CNA at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA and was a member of the Landmark Baptist Church in Glade Spring, VA.
She was the daughter of the late James Bryston Offield and Melissa Ora Mae Graybeal Offield. She was a life long resident of Washington County, VA. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Harrison Eddy.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Howard Eddy and wife, Peggy of Marion, VA, James Edward Eddy and wife, Paula of Lynchburg,
VA; One brother, William Eugene Offield and friend Sandy Bingler of Charlottesville, VA. One granddaughter, Stacey Lynn Cornelius and husband
Bryan of Marion, VA; three grandsons, Thomas Brandon Eddy and wife Jill of Marion, VA; Matthew Harrison Eddy and Gregory Edward Eddy, both of
Lynchburg, VA, four great grandchildren, three sisters in law, Gwendolyn Felty Eddy, Betty French Eddy and Joyce Doss Eddy and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M., Tuesday July 12, 2011 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Scott Spence officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service. The
committal service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Mt. Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, VA. Family and friends may assemble at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Eddy, Gregory Eddy, Bryan Cornelius, Mike Hoback, Tim Wynegar, Chris Henn, and Ned Adams.
