Wilbert Earl Farmer

Abingdon, VA Wilbert Earl Farmer, age 84, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. Earl was a native of Washington County, VA and was a dairy farmer for a number of years. Most recently he was employed by the State of Virginia. He was Pentecostal and attended the Gospel Tabernacle Meadowview, VA. Earl was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Mattie Ray Farmer; sister Blanche Blaylock and brother Ronald Farmer. He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Somers (Michael) of Bristol, VA and Greta Rector (Jim) of Meadowview, VA; sister Mildred Turner (Charles) of Bristol, VA; grandchildren David, Sarah and Caleb; and great-granddaughter Katelynne. A funeral service for Wilbert Earl Farmer will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, January 2, 2015 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be at Knollkreg Memorial Park on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 11:00 am.
