Mr. William Mike Clifton, 69, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in the Wellmont
Bristol Regional Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Virginia and was preceded in death by his parents, W. T. and Nancy Bott Clifton, a sister, Shirlene Nerren. He was employed with Valleydale for thirty years and Bristol Compressors for eleven years. Mike enjoyed trading knives and guns.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia "Jenny" Odum Clifton, Abingdon, VA and a son, William Steve Nerren, Bristol, VA.
The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Bob Neace and Pastor Rodney Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Arnold, Robbie Statzer, Mack Powers, Jimmy Clark, Arvin Dixon, Arthur McCroskey, Hank Odum and Roland Roe. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Owens, Sr., Dennis Fultz, Mack Grey, Rodney Smith, Mack Farmer, Mark Billings, Tom Clark, Kenny Coe.
A special thanks to Dr. Sue Prill and the staff at the Abingdon Cancer Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steele's Road, Bristol, TN 37620.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 23, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Farris Funeral Home.
