William Thomas Freeman

William Thomas "Tom" Freeman, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at his home. He was born to the late Victor Harold Freeman and Ruby Mitchell Freeman on May 20, 1935. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, VA and was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Josephine Widener Freeman; and sister, Bettye Duncan.

He is survived by his son, Bill Freeman of Meadowview, VA; three daughters: Patsy Roe of Abingdon, VA; Linda Davenport and husband Edmond of Meadowview, VA; and Mary Price and husband Kelvin of Meadowview, VA; four grandchildren, Emily Price, Tommy Roe, Maggie Riggle, and Jodie Bryant; eight great grandchildren, Amanda Riggle, Sarah Roe, Samantha Riggle, Annie Bryant, Josh Riggle, Megan Bryant, Becky Riggle, and Joe Bryant; great great-grandchild, Wyatt Pruitt; and special friends, Darrell Caudill and Nicole Price.

Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Reverend David Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Eddie Bailey, Mack Boyd, Brian "Boo" Hollandsworth, Rick Lambert, Wiley Price, and Clyde Seymore will serve as pallbearers. Carl Cannon, Gene Echols, John Gregory, David Leal and Wayne Rector will serve as honorary pallbearers. Military honors will be presented by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia National Guard.
