Willie Marie Pace Mitchell

Willie Marie Pace Mitchell, age 83, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at her home. She was an avid bowler and played for various teams including Food Country USA. Willie also enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. She attended Central Baptist Church.
Willie was born to the late John Oscar Pace and Mary Branham Pace on June 23, 1933. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Roy David Mitchell; daughter, Nancy Mitchell; and sister, Seretta Scott.
She is survived by three sons, John David Mitchell and wife Jennifer of Abingdon, Va.; Dallas M. Whaling, Jr. of Bristol, Tenn.; and Jimmy Whaling of Abingdon, Va.; four daughters: Vickie Whaling of Palm Coast, Fla.; Sue Yowell of Wilmington, N.C.; Darlene Whaling of Abingdon, Va.; and Tasha Mitchell of Abingdon, Va.; brother, Johnny Pace and wife Janice of Abingdon, Va.; sister-in-law, Ruth Fuller and husband Preston of Meadowview, Va.; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, Va. 24210, with Pastor Les Ketron officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Wayne Fuller, John David Mitchell, Johnny Pace, Harold Stanley, Dallas M. Whaling, Jr., and Jimmy Whaling will serve as pallbearers. Clint Waddell will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14th at the Forest Hills Chapel.
