Abingdon, VA – Arthur Lindo Woodard, age 75, passed on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Art was born in Denton, NC on October 20, 1950, to the late Charles Clinton Woodard and Ola Mae Plummer Cook. He was a graduate of Denton High School and briefly served in the U.S. Army.

Art then began his multi-year career in the heating and air conditioning industry. He was very intelligent and creative, earning several patents on inventions used in the restaurant industry. Art most notably was an award-winning musician who could play the guitar, piano, mandolin, and many other instruments. He and his family enjoyed playing music together when the opportunity arose.

In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Oscar Woodard. He is survived by eight children, Arthur Woodard, Jr., William Clinton Woodard, Jonathan Woodard, Christopher Woodard, Patrick Woodard, Jeannie Bowman, Amanda Mendez, and Pamela Bowman; six siblings, Norma Jean Lanier, Judy Ann Lamar and husband Gary, Phibby Venable, Janet Elizabeth Evans, Lona Kay Waskey, George Raymond Woodard, and Ricky Donald Woodard; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
