Barbara Lee Burks

Barbara Lee Burks, age 75, passed on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.  She was preceded in death by her father, Edwards Tolley; and husband, Danny Burks.

Barbara is survived by two sons, Edward Burks and wife Tenna of Morganton, NC, and Joseph Burks and wife Sandrine of Abingdon, VA; her mother, Irene Hale Steele of Morganton, NC; brother, J.B. Steele and wife Jackie of Morganton, NC; grandson, Colby Burks and wife Cheyenne; and great grandson, Blake Burks.

Visitation with the family will be held 2-3 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, in the Forest Hills Location, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA.  Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Delmar Spencer and Pastor Nick Shortridge officiating.  Interment will follow in the Serenity Gardens Mausoleum of Forest Hills Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ballad Hospice in Mrs. Burks' name.
