Basil Junior Tenney

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Clayton and Janice Tenney and one brother Randy Tenney.

Left to remember him is his wife Sharon of 49 years; his daughter Nikki Odum (Thomas); son Brandon Tenney (Kelly); grandchildren, Josh Shell, Wesley Tenney, Eli “Moon Pie” Tenney and Abigail “Angel Baby” Tenney. He cherished them all. Also, his siblings, Ivan Tenney (Diane), Pastor Leonard Tenney (Betty), Sandra Thayer, Dexter Tenney (Neil) and Sherry Parks and many nieces and nephews.

Basil was a sawyer by trade, as well as his dad and grandfather, “He was so proud of it”. He loved hunting and fishing; he could tell you some good hunting stories. His health in the last years kept him from hunting, he missed so much. One of his favorite past times was watching westerns and The History Channel and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved playing his guitar and singing. He had a lot of special friends who went on before him and a lot will remember him.

The family requests a memorial gathering of family and friends on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the First Church of God, 500 Whites Mill Road, Abingdon, VA with a memorial service to follow.
