Betty A. Urbani

With family close by, Betty Annis Brittenham Urbani, known lovingly to everyone as “Granny”, peacefully passed away at the age of 95 years young. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She started each day reading her Bible until her eyesight failed.

Betty will be forever loved by her children, Tony (Diana) and Bonnie (Troy); grandchildren, Leslie, Brittany (Jason), and Tyler (Katie); great-grandchildren, Haley, Logan, Briella, Jaiden, and Elijah; sister, Charlene Tollie; sister-in-law, Linda Brittenham; and many loved ones and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; son, Gary (“Peanut”); sister, Peggy; brothers, Jack and Ronald; and parents, Ina Mae and Frank Brittenham.

The family wishes to express deepest thanks to Caris Healthcare, Home Nursing of SWVA, Dr. Simon Pennings and Dr. Clinton Sutherland.

Visitation with the family will be held 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. with the burial to follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Family will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Caris Healthcare/Hospice or Appalachia Independence Center- Abingdon.
