Billie Booth Burton

May 24, 1949 — August 29, 2021

Abingdon, VA - Billie Booth Burton passed peacefully at home Sunday afternoon, August 29, 2021.  Raised in the Roanoke Valley, Billie graduated from Andrew Lewis High School and attended Radford University.  She experienced every occupation from school secretary, bank teller, realtor, hair stylist, medical receptionist, office manager to radio sales but by far her greatest accomplishment was FRIEND.

Stranger to no one, Billie was always ready for a laugh and brightened every room she was in.  She was passionate about making old things new and restoring buildings and treasures from the past.  She worked tirelessly to help support her family and to complete her endless list of projects.  A natural musician, Billie was accomplished on the piano and had a beautiful voice.  She was an intelligent, lifelong learner with an unparalleled curiosity for life.  She was fearless, funny, and full of energy.  Billie influenced nearly every person who had the pleasure of her company.

Billie shared her love and her life with family.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Gary Bennett Burton, and parents Doak and Eunice Booth.  She is survived by three daughters, nine grandchildren, sister, and many nieces and nephews.  Billie will be greatly missed.
