Bondwyn Adenia Mountain

Bondwyn Adenia Copenhaver Mountain, passed away on September 13, 2026, in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 81. She was born on May 12, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, kindness to animals, and steady Christian faith.

A graduate of John S. Battle High School, Bondwyn was a woman who found meaning in the warmth of home and the care of those she loved. She loved to decorate her home, creating spaces of comfort and beauty that reflected her generous spirit. She adored her children and cherished being a mother, a role she embraced with deep love and abiding joy.

Compassion was one of the defining qualities of her life, and she was especially tenderhearted toward animals. Her two beloved golden retrievers, Rosie and Jenny, held a very special place in her heart. A loving Christian woman, she was Baptist in faith and, though not attending a current church in person, continued to receive sermons from an out-of-state church that nourished her spirit.

Above all, Bondwyn will be remembered for the love she gave so freely. She is survived by her husband, William Edward Mountain, with whom she shared her life; her daughters, Tammy Kaye Pence, and Amy Lynne Musikantow, and son-in-law, Allen Samuel Musikantow; her son, Rodney Edward Mountain; her grandson, Quinten Benjamin Pence; and her brother, Myron Copenhaver, and sister-in-law, Marsha Copenhaver and sister-in-law Phyllis Copenhaver. She is also survived by sister in laws; Doris Mountain and Beverly Mountain along with several nieces and nephews. In their lives, and in the memories they carry forward, her care, faith, and affection will remain a lasting blessing.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Carrie Copenhaver; her father, Ben Carr Copenhaver; her brother, Gale Cleland Copenhaver; her mother-in-law, Georgia Lucille Mountain; her father-in-law, Edward Mountain; her brother-in-law, Joe Mountain; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Becky and Leonard Davis.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Farris Cremation & Funeral Center – Forest Hills Chapel, 19415 Lee HWY, Abingdon, Virginia 24210. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the same location with Rev. Paul Ketron officiating.
