Carrie Lee Widener, 73, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at her home.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was a daughter of the late James and Grace Moody. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl "Bill" Widener, a daughter, Brenda C. Colley and a sister, Barbara Lethcoe. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda K. Singleton, Elizabeth A. Widener and Bonnie L. Widener; sister, Beulah Snead; brothers, Jimmy Moody and Wayne Moody; son-in-law, Ralph Colley; grandchildren, Clarica McNew, Jake Long, Crystal Long, Lee Colley, Amanda Jennings and Daniel Long; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Paul Price and Pastor Gary Roark officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Lee Colley, Jake Long, Daniel Long, Ernie Rhoten, Keith Moody, Butch Jones, Wayne Colley and Tommy Buskill.
The family will receive friends at Farris Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2012.
