Charles Bobby McCray

May 17, 1935 — February 15, 2010

Charles Bobby McCray, 74, born May 17, 1935, went to be with the Lord February 15, 2010 at the Wellmont Hopice House, Bristol, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Naomi McCray and his sibling, Harry McCray.

Bobby retired as a tool and dye maker from Bristol Compressors in 2000.

After graduation from Meadowview High School, Bobby entered the U. S. Air Force serving four years from 1954 until 1958. During his service, he met the love of his life, Lucille Cindy Whitehurst McCray. They were married August 23, 1958 and were blessed with four children and their spouses, Diane McCray Wagers and husband Tom, Charles "Chuck" Bobby McCray, Jr. and wife Sharon, Dana Sue McCray Snapp and husband, David, Dottie McCray Walton and husband, Michael, siblings, Warren McCray and wife, Imogene, Dana Duncan and husband Ray, Paul McCray and wife Zella, Donald McCray and wife Carol, Dot Long and husband Bill. A sister-in-law, June McCray.

Bobby was active in his community; coaching little league and was a founding Deacon of the Midway Baptist Church. He loved creating "Bobby's Big Projects" and playing with his grandchildren, Christa Wagers Harris, Brian Wagers, Catie McCray Charlie McCray, Angela Snapp and Christina Snapp.

The funeral service will be conducted Friday, February 19, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel Mausoleum at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Charles "Chuck" McCray, Jr., his only son officiating. Entombment will follow.

Full Military honors will be provided by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends in the mausoleum on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
