Charles Lamar Lockard, “Dobbs”, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. He was born in Harlan, KY to the late Keenus Lockard and Cora Belle Stewart Lockard on August 10, 1946. Charles worked for Island Creek Coal Co. for many years. He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by two sisters, Ersie Mitchell and Elizabeth Ann Lockard and two brothers, Keenus Earl Lockard and James Lockard.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Susie Dawson Lockard; three sons, Timothy Lamar (Donna) Lockard, James Earl (Faith) Lockard and Charles Christopher Lockard; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Farris Cremation and Funeral Center - Forest Hills Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Roger Keene officiating. Entombment will follow at Serenity Gardens Mausoleum at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
The pallbearers will be Timothy Lockard, James Earl Lockard, Charles Christopher Lockard, Jack Martin, John Thacker, Darrell Thacker, Dave Bollin and Allen Hamm.
