Charlotte Bond Scott, of Abingdon, Virginia died on December 31, 2025.

Charlotte graduated from Nickelsville High School in May of 1956 and moved to the Washington DC area, where she was employed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. During her time there, she completed various educational programs under Office Personnel Management. After 30 years of civil service she retired in Abingdon, Virginia.

She was a charter member of Highlands Fellowship Church in Abingdon, where she served as a volunteer in the food pantry, greeter in the chapel and assisted in the church library. She dearly loved and enjoyed the various Bible Studies.

Charlotte was born May 5, 1938, to the late Hoyt Bond and Virginia Addington Bond of Scott County, Virginia.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her beloved husband William Frazier Scott; a daughter Karen Lynn Scott McKibben; a granddaughter Rachel A. Banks and a grandson Richard Frazier Scott McKibben.

Survivors include one son William Frazier Scott Jr. (Ft Royal, VA); a sister Sharon Sowers and husband Danny (Wytheville, VA); a brother Charles M. Bond and wife Robin (Nickelsville, VA); beloved son-in-law Barry Banks (Abingdon, VA); two granddaughters and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was blessed to have traveled extensively to see the beauty of God’s creation. She loved cooking, gardening and hosting at her home.

Charlotte wished to express her deep gratitude and love for God, country, family and friends.

The funeral service will be held at the Main Street Chapel-Farris Funeral Service at 5:30 pm, on Monday, January 5, 2026, with Pastor Allen Jessee officiating. The visitation will follow the funeral service at the Main Street Chapel Farris Funeral Service. Graveside services will be held at Knollkreg Memorial Park on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Highlands Fellowship Food Pantry, PO Box 553, Abingdon, VA 24212 or Susan Kromer Cancer Fund.
