Clarice E. Kolling

Clarice Eunice Kolling, 96, passed away on August 8, 2026 in Abingdon, Virginia. She was born on September 28, 1929 in Clearbrook, Minnesota.

Clarice married Ruben Kolling March 26, 1948. They eventually moved to Abingdon, Virginia, where she owned and operated The Cherokee Restaurant for many years. She was kind and generous with a playful side beneath her quiet demeanor. She enjoyed dancing, crocheting, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family. She was resourceful and hardworking with an entrepreneurial spirit, making the most of what she had and finding a way forward when things were difficult.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ruben Doren Kolling; her parents, Elmer and Helen Jorgenson; two brothers, Wayne Jorgenson and Charles Jorgenson; five sisters, Vernice Henno, Margaret Erickson, Audrey Peterson, Ardis Kolling, and Joy Ann Jorgenson; and cherished friend, James Siedschlag.

She is survived by her five children: Bruce (Pam) Kolling, Randy (Patty) Kolling, Dale Kolling, Kimberly (Dave) Ashley, and Terry (Teresa) Kolling.

She was a beloved grandmother to Richard, Gail, James, Justin, Heather, Crystal, Terry Lee, Hailey, Hannah, and Harley, and a proud great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren.

She gave her family a lifetime of love and support. We will remember her in the things she taught us and the stories we tell. We will miss her deeply and love her always.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
