Claudette Smith Anderson, age 78, of Bristol, Tennessee, formerly of Patterson, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on July 6, 2025. Born in Patterson, Virginia, Claudette was the daughter of the late Claude and Esther Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Anderson; her beloved brothers, Rabon Smith and Paul Smith; and many dear loved ones who went before her.

Claudette is survived by her devoted daughter, Rhonda Anderson Morris and husband Morgan Morris; her cherished grandchildren, Sean Brady Anderson, Abigail Morris Morrow and husband Brett, and Audrey Morris Russ and husband Dustin; and two precious great-granddaughters, Lily Morrow and Laurel Morrow. She is also survived by her loving sister, Carolyn Matney; sister-in-law, Shirley Martin and a host of special nieces and nephews who held a dear place in her heart.

Claudette was a woman of unwavering faith, having lived her life in devotion to God as a member of the Holiness faith. Her gentle spirit, strength, and grace were a testament to her love for the Lord. She dedicated five years of service to Grundy Hospital, followed by 26 years at Jewell Smokeless Coal Company. She was the former owner of Driftwood Campground at South Holston Lake in Bristol, Tennessee, where she created a welcoming space for family and friends to gather and make lasting memories.

There will be no public service at this time, as honoring her privately is what the family feels best reflects the deep love and grief they carry. Claudette’s legacy of faith, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

To honor Claudette’s life and legacy, memorial contributions may be made in Claudette’s name to Ballad Cancer Care of Bristol 743 Island Rd.
