Cody Eugene Rhyne of Abingdon Virginia, born December 15, 1960, in Springfield Missouri, proud member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation passed from this world to the next on July 16, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Cody is preceded in death by his parents, Beryl and Saundra Rhyne, mother, Sharon Savage and his sister, Courtney Rodriguez.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Rhyne, daughter Sara Lucy and spouse Eric, and with his grandsons Braeden and Tristan Lucy and sister-in-law Amy Anderson. Cody is also mourned by siblings Curt Rhyne and wife Debbie, Clary Rhyne, Troy and Todd Hall, with numerous nieces and nephews.
Cody moved to Northern Virginia as a young man, making numerous lifelong friends eventually settling in Southwest Virginia with the love of his life, daughter and beloved pets. Cody was a master craftsman whose work can be seen in many of the historic buildings and homes in Abingdon and the surrounding area. Cody was also an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and hunter who loved spending time surrounded by nature.
Cody was always proud of his heritage and the family requests donations be made to the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Foundation www.creeknationfoundation.org in lieu of flowers or other contributions.
At Cody's request no services are planned at this time.
