Daniel Trigg Preston

Daniel Trigg Preston, age 81, passed on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Mr. Preston was a longtime resident of Glade Spring, VA and a graduate of Douglas High School. Upon graduation he worked at Holston Furniture Store, he enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War and in Korea and Germany. He was member of Mt. Calvary Community Church.

Mr. Preston was preceded in death by his parents, Trigg Daniel Preston and Hannah Johnson Preston; sisters Della Skipper, Elsie Preston, Margaret Davis and Jeanette Preston; brother, Jack Preston; nephew, Robert Skipper and foster sister, Rachel Arend.

He is survived by his brother, Monroe "Piggy" Preston of Farmville, VA; nieces and nephews, Trigg Skipper, Nathaniel Skipper, Ozawa Skipper-Coleman, Diane Davis Price, and Loren Davis; and several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 12:00 p.m, at Mt. Calvary Community Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Gaynelle Heath officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia Army National Guard.
