David Edwards

David Carl Edwards, 69, passed away peacefully, with his son, Michael, by his bedside, at 1:25 a.m. on August 31, 2026, entering the joy of his Heavenly Father and greeting his daughter, Amanda, who proceed him.

He was, also, preceded in death by his father, Frank Carpenter, his mother, Kay Phillips and her husband, John Phillips.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Edwards; his son, Michael Edwards; his step son Alex Rose, his son-in-law, Robert Nickel; his sisters, Kim and Anita; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

David was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he met the mother of their much-loved children. He was mechanically gifted with a lifelong love of working on cars, especially his 67 GTO and riding his motorcycle. He was a strong, capable man who took care of his family and was not afraid to stand up for what mattered to him. Above all, David was a man whose faith in the Lord and love for scripture grew stronger and stronger throughout his life. 

He will be greatly missed by everyone who had a conscious encounter with him, even if you just encountered his hearty laugh. In his presence, all would say, “I have never felt as safe anywhere else, as I did when I was with David Edwards." He was a father figure to many and shared his faith with others without hesitancy. His last ride was into the gates of Heaven.

A visitation be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. With Celebration of life starting at 2:00 p.m. with Celebrant William Denton officiating.
