Dorothy Gay Blevins

December 21, 1955 — October 27, 2025

Lebanon

It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce the passing of Dorothy Blevins, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, who entered eternal rest on October 27, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.

Born on December 21, 1955, Dorothy lived a life full of compassion, strength, and grace. She was the heart of her family — the one who held everyone together through peace, laughter, tears, and everything in between. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her love was the kind that made everyone feel heard, seen, safe, and cherished.

She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her warm hugs, her gentle words of wisdom, and the way her smile could light up an entire room. Dorothy loved her family deeply and found her greatest joy in spending time with them — cooking, talking, wood working, jewelry making and creating memories that will live on forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Lee McCarty and Alice O’Neil McCarty; two loving husbands, Emory “Dee Dee” Mullins and Lewis Evans Blevins, who were all waiting to embrace her once again.

She leaves behind her loving children, Stephanie Cook (Thomas “Cookie” Cook), Dee Mullins, Billy Stanley (Sheena Stanley) and Catherine Stanley; grandchildren, April Carr (Quentin Carr), Anthony Cook, Tyler Cook (Josselynn Cook), Haley Mullins (Bailey Walker), Katelyn Mullins, Allison Stanley and Makenzie Stanley; a very special aunt, Mary Catherine “Aunt Cathy” McCarty; and uncle, Leon Shephard. Dorothy also had nine great-grandchildren, eight brothers, three sisters, several nieces and nephews, a host of extended family and friends who will carry her spirit in their hearts always. Though her earthly presence will be deeply missed, her love will forever guide those who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the Farris Funeral Service - Main Street Chapel where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor her beautiful soul.

May her memory be a blessing, and may we all continue to feel her love in the quiet moments that remind us she’s still near.

We love and miss you so much mama!
