Elizabeth Jane Roberts

Elizabeth Jane Roberts, age 87, passed on Monday, January 16, 2023, at her home.  Ms. Roberts was a former employee of Gordon Garment, and Washington County Public Schools.  She was a member of Fleenor Memorial Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude S. and Bessie Bott Russ; the love of her life, Cecil Roberts; son, Tom Roberts; Zed Isaac and Ruth Lara Russ who raised her; grandson, Charles Roberts; and sisters, Bonnie Jo Pippin and Ruth Ladd.

She is survived by three children, David Roberts of Bristol, TN, Luke Alfred Roberts and wife Rosie of Bristol, VA, and Georgia Noonkester and husband Dennis of Bluff City, TN; brother, Bim Russ of Greenville, TN; two sisters, Marcine Robinette of Bristol, VA, and Irene Childress of Bristol, VA; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; special brother-in-law, Big Tom Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023, in the Main Street location of Farris Funeral Service.  Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Rust Hollow Cemetery with Pastor Roger Ball officiating.  Pallbearers will be Isaac Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Nathan Roberts, Will McDuffie, Dennis Noonkester, and Marty Roe.  Samuel Roberts will be an honorary pallbearer.
