Ellen Lola Marie Matherly Meadows

Bristol, Va. – Ellen Lola Marie Matherly Meadows, age 64, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. She was born March 1, 1957 in Bristol, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Richlands High School. She worked as a self-employed Home Health Aide as long as her health permitted.

She enjoyed crafts and football. She was a fan of the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and a follower of Tom Brady. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Ellen will always be most fondly remembered as a caregiver with a big heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Doris Baldwin; and two brothers, Avery Lynch, and Bill Matherly.

Ellen is survived by ex-husband and lifelong friend, Jerry Meadows; two sons, Thomas (Joanie) Meadows, and Adam (Sabrina) Meadows; one daughter, Amanda (Ira) Miller; one brother, James Matherly; four grandchildren, Kevin Meadows, Hannah Meadows, Brandon Riggs, and Jordan Riggs; and three great-grandchildren, Ryder, Nolan, and Ivy.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Richlands Church of God, 405 Jones Chapel Road, Richlands, VA 24641, with Pastor Monte Elswick officiating.
