Abingdon, VA – Ernest Wayne Heath, age 81, passed on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, in Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mr. Heath was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Rush Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He retired from many years of employment from VDOT and loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernie and Gladys Baumgardner Heath; son, Ernest Wayne “Ernie” Heath, II; and nephew, Curt Randell “Randy” Heath, II.
Mr. Heath is survived by two daughters, Michelle Norris and companion Donnie Wright, and Annette (Allen) Singleton, both of Abingdon, VA; grandchildren, Renee Stevens, Cody Stevens, Christina Singleton, and Tyler Singleton; great grandchildren, Bentley and Jordan; brothers, Steve Heath and Curt (Reba) Heath; sisters, Elwanda Mitchell and Elizabeth (Roy) Stanley; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2021, in Rush Creek Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to convene at the cemetery.
