Evelyn Louise Ball

Evelyn Louise Ball, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and treasured sister, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, in Abingdon, VA, after an extended illness. Born on November 27, 1958, in Castlewood, VA, Evelyn’s life was a testament to love, hard work, and community.

Evelyn co-owned Jerry’s Roofing, where her dedication and partnership in the family business exemplified her strong work ethic. Evelyn found joy in spending precious time with her grandchildren, and her sisters. Her favorite pastimes included beach outings, camping adventures, and riding horses, activities that filled her life with both peace and excitement. She attended Damascus Church of Christ.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerry Wayne Ball; her son, Brad Ball; her beloved grandchildren, Hunter Clay Ball, Axle Ball, and Rayce Ball; her sisters; Linda Sailor, Brenda Taylor, Bonnie Champman, and Barbara Moore and husband Chris; brother, Freddie Taylor and wife Rita; and several nieces and nephews who will all carry her memory forward with love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Myrtle Lampkins Taylor; her brothers, Felix and Henry Taylor; and her son, Chad Ball.

The family will honor Evelyn’s life with a graveside service on April 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, located at 19415 Lee Hwy, Abingdon, VA 24210. Minister Walt Staude will officiate. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
