Rick was a lifelong enthusiast of guitars, jazz, blues & soul music, classic motorcycles and cooking - especially on his grill. His love of people and joy of life made conversation easy with everyone he met, and he loved to share stories. After graduating in 1968 from Baltimore’s Polytechnic High School and attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Rick embarked on a career in the moving and storage industry that took him across the country before returning to the Baltimore area. He settled in Columbia, MD for many years and retired to the mountains of Southwest Virginia.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Ruth H. (Riker); his three children, James Davey (Lindsay) of Essex, MD, Meredith Power (Ray) of Arbutus, MD and Fred Davey of Livermore, CA; his grandsons, Connor and Eric; his sister, Barbara Litzenberger (John) and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
