Frederick Wyndom Sullins

Frederick Wyndom Sullins, age 70, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023. He was born in Abingdon, VA on August 20, 1952 to the late Fred Sullins and Mattie Blevins Sullins. Wyndom graduated from John S. Battle High School and attended Virginia Highlands Community College. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and collecting coins. His greatest joy was his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Wyndom was preceded in death by one son, Robert Gregory Holdaway, two brothers, Charles Sullins and Dean Sullins, two sisters, Betty Whitehurst and Louise Casey.

Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Sandra Collins Sullins, one daughter, Shelly Gutierrez (Vernon Kearney); three grandchildren, Kassidey Holdaway, Braydon Gutierrez, and Daunte Kearney; three brothers, Raymond Sullins, Carl Sullins (Hattie Mae), and Darrel Sullins; three sisters, Anna Mae Gobble, Mary Ray (Dexter), Carol Tate (Jack), son-in-law José Gutierrez.

The family will receive friends at the Main Street location of Farris Funeral Service on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Main Street location of Farris Funeral Service. The burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon with Pastor Paul Price officiating. Pallbearers will be Vernon Kearney, Dale Fox, Kenneth Ray, José Gutierrez, D.J. Hicks, Troy Gobble, Braydon Gutierrez, Daunte Kearney, Bobby Sullins and Jeffrey Sullins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Farris Funeral Service to help offset funeral expenses.
