Froncie Sykes

Froncie (Stiltner) Sykes, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at her home on January 7th, 2026, and is at eternal rest with our Heavenly Father. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. Froncie was an extremely kind and caring woman of Christian faith, born to Victoria (Little) and Ronald Stiltner on July 6th, 1934, in Pikeville, KY. She graduated from Honaker High School and lived the majority of her life in Abingdon, Virginia. 

Preceded in death by her husband Clyde Ellis Sykes, an infant son Steven, four sisters, and three brothers. She is survived by three daughters Teresa Sykes (Tony), Brenda Camacho (Philip), and Angela Hobden (Victor). She has five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Our lives have forever been blessed for knowing such a sweet, gentle lady. 

Froncie had beautiful, sparkling blue eyes and she loved to laugh. She found joy in the simple things in life and always put others first. She took pride in her home and loved her family dearly. She enjoyed music, wildlife, and gardening, with a particular talent for growing beautiful flowers. She was the kindest of souls. The world has truly lost an angel and we will cherish her memory always. 

Visitation with the family will be held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2026, in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Greg Dingus and Reverend Steve Dingus officiating. A private committal service will be held in the Colonial Chapel Mausoleum of Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Tweed, Michael Tweed, Victor Hobden, Erica Camacho and Rachel Camacho. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Froncie’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, in Mrs. Sykes’ name. Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com and signing the online guest register.
