Gail Elaine Post Schober

March 3, 1938 — May 8, 2021

Abingdon, VA – Gail Elaine Post Schober, age 83, passed on Saturday, May 8, 2021, in Abingdon Health & Rehab Center.  Mrs. Schober was a resident of Blairsville, GA before moving to Abingdon in 2015 to live with her daughter.  She was a graduate of Florida Atlantic University and was a educator in Broward County, FL.   

Mrs. Schober was preceded in death by her parents, William Ebon Post and Doris Florence Davis Post; and husband, William Rutherford Schober. 

She is survived by her son, William J. Schober and wife Julia of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Suzanne Orfield and husband Mark of Meadowview, VA, Beth Barstow and husband Todd of Charlottesville, VA, and Janice Blanchett and husband Mark of Chapel Hill, TN; ten grandchildren, James Blanchett, Tyler Barstow, Jennifer Whitesides, JordanWhitesides Widener, Jared Blanchett, Kyle Schober, Jillian Blanchett Goodman, Jonathan Whitesides, Taylor Blanchett, and John Mark Blanchett; and three great grandchildren, Liam Blanchett, Porter Blanchett, and Caroline Widener. 

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021, in the House of Prayer Church Cemetery, 1400 Pat Colwell Road, Blairsville, GA, with Pastor Jerry Helton officiating.  COVID-19 Guidelines are to be observed.
