Galen Lee Andrew Dillard

Galen Lee Andrew Dillard, age 28, passed away at his home on Monday, February 27, 2023. Galen was born on May 18, 1994, in Abingdon VA to Ella Mae Fields Harless and the late Kickle “Butch” Dillard. He was a graduate of Abingdon High School and a member of Duncansville Christian Church. Galen recently rededicated his life to the Lord during a hospital stay. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys play football and professional wrestling.

Galen was preceded in death by his father, Kickle “Butch” Dillard; his grandparents, Fred and Gladys Dillard, and James “Bean Whacker” and Ethel Fields; sister, Ashley Childress and brother, Jeffery VanMeter.

Survivors include his mother Ella May Harless; two brothers, Leroy VanMeter (Dana), and Michael Dillard; three sisters, Johnnie Mae Roark (Randy), Sarah Sharrett (Danny), and Lisa Childress; special nephews, Jeffery Leroy VanMeter and Christopher Roark; special niece, Brandy VanMeter (Kenny); extra special nephews Isiah Leroy VanMeter and Noah Joe Lee VanMeter; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Duncansville Christian Church with Hassel Justus officiating.
