George Lane Roberts

George Lane Roberts, age 79, passed on Friday, December 15, 2023, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. George never knew a stranger. George grew up in Fairfax, VA and was a graduate of Fairfax High School.  He earned his bachelor’s degree at Emory & Henry College and master’s degree from East Tennessee State University.  George was the owner of Appalachian Alloys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth L. and Ruth Roberts; and two brothers, Roger and Kenny Roberts.

George is survived by his wife, Dianne Crowgey Roberts; two sons, Charles “Pete” Roberts, and Sam Roberts; two sisters, Anne Owens and Helen Roberts; brother, Charles A. Roberts; granddaughter, Lindsey Lane Roberts; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
