Gizmo Bordwine, a beloved antique dealer and cherished family member, passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on March 21, 1949, in Washington County, Virginia, Gizmo was known for his outgoing personality and was a pleasure to be around, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the honor of knowing him.

Gizmo dedicated a part of his life to serving his country, having proudly completed three tours in Vietnam, where he demonstrated unwavering courage and resilience, ultimately earning a Purple Heart for his service. His experiences shaped him into the remarkable individual he was, as he translated the lessons learned in the military into a life full of passion and community.

An antique dealer by profession, Gizmo had an innate ability to appreciate the beauty and history behind every item he encountered. His love for antiques was matched only by his deep commitment to his family and friends. In addition to his business, he found great joy in working on the farm, a pursuit that brought him peace and fulfillment.

Gizmo leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Brenda Johnson Bordwine; his daughter, Mandy Bordwine Lieb (Jim); and his granddaughters, Lexi and Stella, who will carry on his legacy with love and cherished memories. He is also survived by his stepson, Chris Kilby(Jana); stepdaughter, Kim Kilby; sister, Keys Bordwine Camper (Danny); niece, Whitney Camper; and special grandson, Jeremy Greer. Gizmo’s heart was vast, encompassing numerous cousins and many special friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Newton Bordwine and Shirley Arrington Bordwine, whose memory lives on through the stories and values they instilled in him.
