Halford Leonard Honaker, 66, a loving and devoted husband, father and papaw, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2009.
He was born August 9 1943 in Honaker, VA but spent most of his life in Fairfax County, VA. Halford was self employed as BH&W Carpentry Contractors for 40 years. He took great pride in and was dedicated to his work.
He is preceded in death by his parents Paul Henry and Margaret Elizabeth Honaker.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Janis Honaker; his son Lester Honaker of Alexandria; his daughter, Angie Honaker of Woodford, VA; three grandchildren, Joshua, Lauren and Jake; one sister, Dolly Hess; Eight brothers, Jessie, Jimmy, Benny, Samuel, Jerry and Bradley all of Honaker, VA, Wayne of Swords Creek, VA and Calvin of Norton, VA and several nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 28, 2009 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Vonley Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens on Lee Highway in Abingdon. Pallbearers will be Joshua Honaker, Jake Howard, Larry Burner, Gary Burner, Jimmy Lee Honaker, James Layne, David Honaker and Michael Paul Honaker. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Farris Funeral Service.
