Mrs. Hassie Irene Woods, 75, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012, at Abingdon Manor. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and daughter of the late Clinton Wright and Edna Roark Wright. Irene was a longtime employee of Abingdon Cleaners.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Woods of Abingdon; four brothers: Clinton Wright, Jr. of Marion; and William E. Wright, Jerry Leon Wright, and David Wright, all of Abingdon; four sisters: Thelma Wright, Mary Wimmer, Sandra Wise and Jean Hayter, all of Abingdon; and several nieces and nephews.
The family of Irene Woods will receive friends on Sunday, January 29, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2012, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens . Rev. David Neitch will officiate the service, and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are invited to meet at the funeral home for a procession to the cemetery leaving at 1:35 p.m. .
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive , Tampa , FL 33607 . Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com.
