Abingdon, VA – Irma Jean Osborne Parsons, age 79, passed on Monday, February 27, 2017, in Kingsport, TN. Irma worked at Golans and Buster Brown for many years and attended Trinity Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bradley and Ruth Price Osborne; husband, Larry Parsons; and brothers, Wilmer, David, and Robert Osborne.
She is survived by eight children, Nancy Canter of Bradley, SC, Betty Poole of Thomasville, NC, Carol Griffin of Kingsport, TN, Garry Parris of Bradley, SC, Patricia Parris of Damascus, VA, Jo Anne Quesenberry of Meadowview, VA, Marlene Moody of Steubenville, OH, and Amanda Parsons of Damascus, VA; sister, Mary Hudson of Glade Spring, VA; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, in Little Wilson United Methodist Church Cemetery, 5562 Troutdale Hwy., Troutdale, VA, with Danny Calloway officiating. Rick Watson, Ethan Watson, Michael Morrison, Josh Wheeler, Jonathan Nunley, and Bentley Quesenberry will be pallbearers. Raymond Gilbert will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
