James Dennie Farmer

James “Dennie” Farmer passed away on May 10, 2024 at Abingdon Health and Rehab following a long illness. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, James and Karmie Farmer. Dennie is survived by his wife, Delores Farmer; two children, James “Will” Farmer and Rebecca Bray; daughter-in-law, Shannon Farmer and two grandsons, Jack Farmer and Jude Farmer.
 
 Dennie was a life-long member of Trigg Street Church of God and was very devout in his faith. His willingness to help anyone will always be remembered along with his volunteer work with the Meadowview Area Boy Scouts. 
 
 Dennie worked as a Draftsman for Dewberry and Davis in Marion for many years, and also Bristol Compressors.  He also took great pride in his military service; he served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany for several years.  Dennie also took much joy in woodworking. 
 
 Dennie is rejoicing in heaven today, reunited with his mother and father and other loved ones. He will be very missed.

The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful Cardiology team at Kingsport Regional Hospital, Staff at Abingdon Health and Rehab and the Medical Staff at the VA Medical Center in Johnson City.  

The family requests a visitation to be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Farris Funeral Services, Main Street Chapel with the funeral service following at 12:00 PM with Pastor Donnie Melvin officiating.  The interment will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Rev. Brian Owens officiating.
