James Allen Ratliff

James Allen Ratliff, age 64, of Belfast, VA passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025. He was born in Richlands, VA, on January 15, 1961, to Heidi Edith Ratliff and the late Ralph Curtis Ratliff.

James enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, talking with his friends and working on his cars.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cheryl A. Ratliff; two daughters, Angela "Angie" Ratliff and Alyssa B. Clatterbuck (Matthew); two grandsons, Michael "Mickey" A. Shillinger, III; Beau C. Clatterbuck; his mother, Heidi E. Ratliff and his brother, Donald "Donnie" Ratliff.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the Lebanon Life Saving Crew and the kind staff of MSA, Richlands, VA.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 12-1pm at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at the Forest Hills Chapel with Pastor Larry Robinson officiating. The burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Ratliff, Jamie Ball, Matt Clatterbuck, and Walter Warren.
