Janie Sue Bowman

Janie Sue Bowman, born on August 2, 1956, in the embrace of a loving family, passed unexpectedly on February 19, 2026, at Holston Valley Medical Center. Known for her unwavering dedication to her work and family, Janie made remarkable contributions through her career at Quality Dry Cleaners and Abingdon Dry Cleaners.

Janie’s life was characterized by her boundless love for her family. She treasured every moment spent with her daughter, Jewel Roark, and her cherished grandchildren: Brandi (Nathan) Roark, Tyler (Lauren) Roark, and Amber (Tom) Roark. Furthermore, she delighted in her role as a great-grandmother, enjoying the company of Sammi Jo, Grayson, Haven, Lainey, West, and Autumn. She is also survived by her brother, James Rosenbaum. Her affection extended to many beloved nieces and nephews who were fortunate to know the warmth and kindness she shared with those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Susie Rosenbaum, and her siblings: Betty King, Mary Sullins, Elizabeth Odum, Frances Counts, June Rosenbaum, Gene Rosenbaum, Donny Rosenbaum, John Rosenbaum, Jerry Rosenbaum, and Leonard Rosenbaum. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and their memories will continue to inspire and motivate her family.

A visitation to honor Janie’s life will take place at Farris Funeral Service – Main Street Chapel in Abingdon, Virginia, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.

Janie Sue Bowman leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devoted family relationships that will be cherished forever. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
