Jeanne Margery Ross Patterson died on April 30, 2023 in Abingdon, VA. Jeanne was born in Asheboro, NC in 1948, to the late Margery Edwards Ross and Arthur Ross, Jr. She attended Salem College for 2 years before transferring to Duke University, where she earned a BS in Nursing.

Jeanne enjoyed a 32-year nursing career, working in hospitals in 4 states. She moved back to Winston-Salem in 1995, where she met her late husband, Dr. Richard “Dick” Patterson at Trinity Presbyterian Church. They married a few years later and enjoyed more than 20 years of happy marriage that included lots of mountain hikes, searching for and photographing wildflowers.

Jeanne was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she served on several committees. She enjoyed knitting blankets for Project Linus.

Surviving her are brothers, Art Ross (Jan) and Ed Ross (Sandra), daughter Christy Fleet (Will Adamson) of Abingdon, VA, son Tyler Fleet (Jill) of Charles Town, WV, and grandchildren TR and Gwen Adamson and Hank, Duke and Nash Fleet. Jeanne enjoyed and appreciated the support of Dick’s adult children, Linda Morris (Jeff), Bruce Patterson (Kim) and Mike, in addition to Dick’s grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Winston-Salem on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 1:30 pm.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1416 Bolton St., Winston-Salem, NC or to Salem College, 601 South Church St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
