Jeffrey L. Kestner, Jr., affectionately known as Jeff, passed away on March 7, 2026, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. Born on July 24, 1979, in Smyth County, Virginia, Jeff was a dedicated family man whose love for his children and grandchildren was unmatched. He found joy in the everyday moments of life, and his spirit shone brightest when surrounded by his family.
Jeff graduated from Patrick Henry High School, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by kindness and compassion. Following high school, Jeff enjoyed working as a welder at Bristol Compressors. A man of great warmth, he had the unique gift of never meeting a stranger and embraced everyone with open arms. Known for his heart of gold, Jeff's passion for helping others was evident in everything he did. He generously shared his time and effort, leaving a positive impact on all he encountered.
In his leisure time, Jeff enjoyed fishing, a hobby that brought him peace and relaxation. The serene waters were a favorite retreat, where he could unwind and reflect on life. His playful spirit and gentle nature drew people to him, fostering connections that will resonate for years to come. He and Alicia enjoyed spending time together, traveling to the beach and hiking in the mountains.
Jeff was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Baby J and Baby K.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Alicia Smith Kestner; three children, daughters Macayla Kestner and Justice Kestner, and son Zachary Kestner and wife, Joy. He also leaves behind his parents, Jeff and Barbara Kestner, siblings Sherry Allison, Kim McGinnis, and Mikee Kestner, along with his cherished grandchildren: Rosemary Johnson, Xander Alderson, and Everett Kestner and his stepsons Landon Boyd and Caleb Boyd, and several nieces and nephews who were fortunate to know his love.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Farris Funeral Service, Main Street Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM with Bro. Brian Wilson officiating. The burial will take place at Mountain View Baptist Cemetery in Meadowview, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Lee Compton, Kenneth "Mikee" Kestner, Kevin Taylor, Mason McGinnis, Zac Kestner, Leslie Kestner, Randy Kestner, Troy Kestner, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Kestner, Macayla Kestner, Jay Taylor, Landon Boyd, Caleb Boyd, Justice Kestner, Jeff Kestner, Sr.
The family would like thank the many people that made contributions to funeral expense and especially, Cinda Bullock.
In this time of mourning, we honor Jeff's memory. He lived a life filled with integrity, friendship, and love for his family—a legacy that will forever remain cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.
