Jerry B. Foster peacefully went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2026, at his home surrounded by loved ones and cherished memories.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His dedication to service continued throughout his life as he faithfully served as a Deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Lebanon, Virginia. He also worked as a police officer in Glade Spring, Virginia, and later served the community as a Residential Advisor at Jacob’s Creek Job Corps. Most recently, Jerry worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Blue Ridge Job Corps in Marion, Virginia, where he impacted many lives with compassion, wisdom, and encouragement.
Jerry was a man of deep faith, strong character, and unwavering love for his family and community. He found great joy in music and had a lifelong love for listening to and sharing it with those around him. Music brought him peace, comfort, and happiness, and it was one of the many ways he connected with others.
Above all, Jerry loved his family and loved the Lord. He leaves behind treasured memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His passing leaves a profound void, but his legacy of faith, service, kindness, and love will continue to live on.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jeremiah and Ada Foster, and brother, Steven Foster. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacquelyn Foster; children, Jerry Foster and wife Tink, April Torres, Terry Foster and wife Kim, Angelita Carpenter, Gregory Scales, Channell Blevins, and Danielle Love; siblings, Patricia Austin and husband William, and Ellain Tabor; 15 grandchildren; special nieces, Rochelle (Sandy) King, and Tasha Eury; nephew, Michael Austin; and many cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Dwayne Knight, Rev. William Austin, Rev. Danny Belcher, and Rev. Jackie Booher officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia Army National Guard. Interment will be privately held in Mountain View Memorial Park in Bristol, VA with Jonathan Knight, Matthew Knight, Chris Perry, Michaele Austin, Blake Austin, and Darius Eury serving as pallbearers.
He now smiles from above with his sight, his legs, his health, and complete healing now. May he rest in eternal peace and complete healing in the arms of the Lord.
