Jimmy Wayne McCray, age 76, passed away at Valley Healthcare in Chilhowie. Jimmy was born in Washington County, VA to the late Clarence McCray and Willie Vesta Henderson McCray.

 In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy McGrady; brother-in-law, Wayne Thomas and sister-in-law, Mandy McCray.

Jimmy graduated from R.B. Worthy High School in Saltville, VA. In his professional life, Jimmy worked tirelessly for over 18 years as an electrician at Eastman, showcasing his skills and commitment to his craft. After retiring from Eastman, Jimmy worked as an electrician and built several homes in the area.
 
Outside of his work life, Jimmy found solace and enjoyment in riding motorcycles alongside his nephews and brother-in-law. The thrill of the open road brought him great happiness. Additionally, he had a passion for fishing which allowed him to connect with nature and create cherished memories.
 
He is survived by his loving sons Jason McCray (Stacie McCray), Neil McCray (Kathy McCray), devoted siblings Nancy Thomas and Buddy McCray, grandchildren Judson McCray (Jacey), Aubrey McCray, Brittany Thomas (Brandon), Kelly Brock (Jason), as well as several nieces and nephews who will carry forth his legacy with them.
 
The family would like to thank the staff of Valley Healthcare for the care they provided to Jimmy.

 A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring with Pastor David Robins officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to gather at the cemetery by 12:50 pm.
