JoAnn D. McConville (Hart-Edwards) Stanley, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on September 1, 1948, in Islip, New York, Jo-Ann embodied a spirit of kindness and compassion that touched all who knew her.
As the owner of Advanced Bookkeeping, Jo-Ann dedicated her career to helping others manage their financial needs with expertise and warmth. Her professional pursuits were only matched by her personal passions. A devout Christian, she loved the Lord and devoted many of her moments to serving others, holding her family close to her heart.
JoAnn was particularly fond of the great outdoors, enjoying camping and working outside. She took joy in simple pleasures, always finding time to lend a helping hand or brighten someone’s day. Her selflessness was evident in everything she did, inspiring those around her to embrace the same spirit of generosity.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Sharlene Lynn Hart Viers and Melinda Leigh Hart; her grandchildren, Natasha Viers Overbay (Ryan), Jeremy Viers (Kelia), Sabrina Viers, Logan Viers (Chris), Danielle Stacy Ramey (Michael), Tyler Stacy (Kirsten), Cody Hart, Candace Stiltner, Jonah Berliner, Christopher Harris, and Peerless Goodman; and her sister, Martha Joan McConville. Great-grandchildren; Benton, Brynlee, Blakelyn, Aubree, Emmy, Raelynn, Kolbi, Levi, Carson, Lane, Kamryn, Layla, Bobby, Enson, and Addy.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her cherished husband, Max Reynolds Stanley; her daughter, Lisa Marie Hart Stacy; her son, Roger Dennis Hart; and her brothers, William Charles McConville, Charles Robert McConville, Kenneth McConville, and Richard Henry McConville.
Visitation will be held on March 12, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Macedonia Church of Christ, located at 25350 Watauga Rd. in Abingdon, VA. The funeral service will take place the following day, March 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM, also at Macedonia Church of Christ, With Minister Ron Musick Officiating, with burial to follow at 3:00 PM in Forest Hills Memory Gardens, 19415 Lee Hwy, Abingdon, VA. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Viers, Ryan Overbay, Chris Parsell, Chirstopher Harris, Tony Austin, and Jerry Widner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Men of the Macedonia Church of Christ, and the Wednesday night lady's bible study class.
JoAnn's legacy of love and kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
