John Lewis Hudson, Jr. age 88, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at his home in Abingdon, VA.
John was born in Saltville, VA on September 10, 1933, to the late John Hudson, Sr., and Mary Ann Hudson. John retired with 40+ years at HAPCO as a welder. After retirement, he went back and continued to work part-time for many years. He was a Godly man, that believed in fervent prayer and reading his Bible. John read his Bible front to back numerous times. He was a devoted family man, that put the wants and needs of them before his own. John enjoyed spending time woodworking and farming. Above all else, he loved the time he was able to spend with his granddaughter and great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Mary Pierce Hudson, and a brother James David Hudson.
He is survived by his son Anthony “Tony” Hudson; daughter Tina Jenene Goodpasture & husband David; granddaughter Chasity Dawn Hill & husband Nick; brother Thomas Monroe Hudson & wife Mary Ellen; two great grandchildren Anabel & Ephraim Hill; six nieces and nephews; and all his friends he had throughout the years at HAPCO.
The family will receive from 5:00-7:00PM on Monday, June 13, 2022, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday at Knollkreg Memorial Park with Pastor David Crowe officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
