Mr. Johnny H. Delp, 69, entered the pearly gates on Sunday, October 11, 2009.

He will be greatly missed by his soul mate, Tommy Kathy Schultz, who dedicated twenty-seven years of ensuring his happiness; his baby daughter and her husband, Tammie and David Felts, Amelia, VA, and his pride and joy, Taylor, He also leaves to mourn, his daughter and her husband, Virginia and James Smith, Virginia Beach, VA, and grandkids, Holli and Jordan, his brother and his wife W. C. "Bill" and Edna Delp, Meadowview, VA, his sister and her husband, Martha and Bruce Caraway, New Bern, NC, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, very dear and special friends, T. C. and Nancy Greer, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Nipper, Roger, Beth and Brianna Tiller, Lee and Etta Mae Wilcox, Marla Pierce and Fred Harrison who enriched his life thorough their love and friendship.

His favorite and loyal companion, Lady will miss him the most, She was his best friend for fourteen years.

The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mountain View Baptist Church, Old Saltworks Road. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Felts, Sr., David Felts, Jr., Roger Tiller, Marvin Nipper, Nathan Delp and Lester Murray. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Murray, T. C. Greer, Jim Mitchell and William Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions can be made to the Washington County Life Saving Crew, P. O. Box 65, Abingdon, VA 24212 or to the charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Farris Funeral Home main street chapel.
