Ann McCardle

Judy Ann McCardle (Dykesten), 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026, following a brief illness. She was born on September 25, 1950, to the late Archie Dean Dykesten and Cora Jensen Dykesten. She was of Christian faith and loved her family very deeply.

Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Dykesten, and sisters, Betty (George) Horough, Nancy (Lyle) Richey and Jane (Kurt) Humphreys.

She is survived by her brother John (Zophie) Dykesten, Big Bear, CA and sister, Cathy (Randy) Warn of Leesville, SC.

Judy also leaves behind her beloved sons, Pete (Mandi) Burns, Bristol, VA and Matthew (Sara Beth) Burns, Fairview, NC and her five grandchildren who she adored and they affectionately knew her as, Grandma B, Charles, Stella, Natasha, Calvin and Nolan as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a couple of very special friends.

The family will receive friends from 4 pm until 5 pm on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Farris Funeral Service - Main Street Chapel, 427 E. Main Street, Abingdon, VA 24210. Funeral services for Judy will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 5 pm with Pastor Ian Fowler and Pastor Gary Breeding officiating.
