Judy Ann McCardle

Judy Ann McCardle (Dykesten), 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026, following a brief illness. She was born on September 25, 1950, to the late Archie Dean Dykesten and Cora Marion Jensen Dykesten. She was of the Christian faith and loved her family very deeply.

Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Dykesten, and sisters, Betty (George) Horogh, Nancy (Lyle) Richey, and Jane (Kurt) Humphreys.

She is survived by her brother, John (Zofi) Dykesten of Big Bear, CA, and sister, Cathy (Randy) Warn of Leesville, SC.

Judy also leaves behind her beloved sons, Pete (Mandi) Burns of Bristol, VA, and Matthew (Sara Beth) Burns of Fairview, NC, and her five grandchildren, whom she adored and who affectionately knew her as Grandma B.: Charles, Stella, Natasha, Calvin, and Nolan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a couple of very special friends.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Farris Funeral Service - Main Street Chapel, 427 E. Main Street, Abingdon, VA 24210. Funeral services for Judy will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 5 p.m., with Pastor Ian Fowler and Pastor Gary Breeding officiating.
