Judy Boyd Young

Judy Boyd Young, 73, peacefully transitioned at home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2024. She was born on July 11, 1950, in Abingdon, Virginia.

Preceding her in death was her mother, Nancy June Whitten, and special aunt Betty Whitten.

She was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She was a giving person and an excellent teacher. She talked often about how much she loved the Lord and felt that her greatest accomplishment in life was teaching her two boys to also love the Lord.

Judy loved working with her hands. She spent much of her time working in the yard and restoring old furniture. She designed and created a special area in her yard for her prayer time with the Lord. She loved to laugh and joke.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Cecil B. Young; sons, Shannon and Jason Young; two grandchildren, and her brother Terry Whitten.

A private family graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor David Robins officiating.
