Bristol, TN - Leslie Renee Posey, born on September 10, 1973, departed this life on Friday, July 31, 2026. Her passing leaves a gentle but profound void in the lives of her loved ones, colleagues, and all who knew her.

Leslie’s journey began with a solid foundation in education. She attended Virginia High School and continued her studies at the National College of Business and Technology. This pursuit of knowledge led her to a fulfilling career as a Medical Assistant, a role she held for many years. Leslie’s dedication to caring for others set her apart, and her compassionate nature touched both patients and peers alike.

Beyond her career and academic pursuits, Leslie found joy and relaxation in her favorite pastimes. She was an avid crocheter, creating beautiful, handcrafted items that brought warmth to those around her. Leslie also enjoyed watching crime and medical shows, a reflection of her sense of humor always kept you laughing.

Leslie’s deep sense of family was at the heart of her life. She is cherished and remembered by her beloved husband, Nathan Posey, and her daughters, Andrea (Josh) Smith and Sarah (Annie Lee) Abelseth. Leslie also leaves behind her sister, Bonnie (Danny) Lane. Her family circle also included Kaleb (Mickee) Posey, her stepson, and many nieces and nephews.

She now reunites in rest with those who went before her: her father, Howard Willard; her mother, Linda Kathleen Rowe; her son, Matthew Abelseth; her sisters, Ann Garrett and Betty McCracken. The lifelong bonds Leslie shared with her family, both near and far, remain enduring and treasured.

Friends and community members are invited to share in honoring Leslie’s life at Farris Funeral Service – Main Street Chapel, located at 427 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210. Visitation will be held on Saturday August 15, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM with Pastor John Rowe officiating.
